Use /data/cache for Docker-managed storage or /storage for a host folder, disk, SMB share, or NFS mount. The host path mapped to /storage is configured by STORAGE_PATH in .env.

THUMBNAILS

Generated thumbnails

480px thumbnails can be stored in the Docker cache or on the external host/share mount.

Examples: /storage/thumbnails, /storage/photo-cache/thumbs, or /data/cache/thumbnails. Relative paths are treated as paths under /data/cache.

Rebuild thumbnailsRegenerates only 480px thumbnails from indexed originals.
Purge thumbnailsDeletes thumbnails in the current location plus the legacy Docker cache. Previews and originals are untouched.

PREVIEWS

Full previews

Large JPEG previews have an independent path, maximum edge size, and JPEG quality. Missing previews can also be generated automatically when a photo is opened.

Examples: /storage/previews, /storage/photo-cache/previews, or /data/cache/previews.

Changing size or quality affects newly generated and on-demand previews. Use Rebuild previews to apply both settings to the whole catalog.
